I will put all quality crackintros I am aware of having into this page. When I say quality I mean they'll all be matching the following criteria:

  • For a major group
  • Has been used at least once.
  • Isn't too bloody ugly.
  • Took more than 15 mins to code.
  • Or in some other way fucking lame.

    I have tried to rate them (1-5), but don't take the stars too seriously. I have also stated the credits, whenever possible. This page will be updated with new crackintros until there are none left to put here (or until I get bored).

    What is a Crackintro ?

    Crackintros has been around since the days of the C64 and the Amiga, and is basically a small presentation of a release, including credits, info and greetings. They were originally linked and executed before the starting of the game/whatever, which in addition to loading time forced them to be made small.

    When the PC at last got some decent graphics and music capabilities (1990-91), crackintros slowly began to appear ( there are PC crackintros before 1990, but they suck). As most people know, loading time and size limitations has decreased rapidly the last five years, making the original idea of crackintros obsolete. However, the nature of a crackintro still is to be small and fast, and I hope that will never change. It's an art to limit oneself.

    I hope some of you'll enjoy crackintros, I've always found them to be fun to watch, fun to make and a fucking brilliant way of wasting your time.




    The "Crackintro Scene"

  • SAC

    German group, who has made a lot of intros for groups like Genesis, TDU-JAM, Razor 1911 and Paradigm (to name a few). Hetero (code), Dream Design (graphics) are usually the guys responsible.

  • Sanxion

    Swedish group, founded by me and some other local heroes in late 1995. Fangorn (code) and myself (design,music) has made a couple of intros, for Hybrid, Napalm and Paradigm.

  • Hardcore

    Swedish guy, former leader of TDT during their days of glory. Has made quite a few intros for TDT (and other groups as well).

  • Vibrants

    Danish group, hasn't made any crackintros, but their music+player have been used in numerous intros. JCH was/is the most active guy on the PC. Laxity and Drax made most of their music on the C64/Amiga.
